Shiloh in February!
Onions were planted and made it through the week of freezing weather we had around Valentines day. The lettuce we planted also made it thanks to the frost cloth covering. Our collard greens did not fare as well. Those were pulled at the end of the month. All of the plants in Tunnels 1 and 2 made it though beautifully and we ended up harvesting 287 lbs of lettuce for our food bank partners. Over 500 lbs of seed potatoes were planted out in Field 3, both red and gold. Spinach and beets were planted by seed.
Ditches were dug to help better control water flow around the raised beds. Fencing was installed around the raised beds in Fields 1 and 2 to help control the rabbits. Almost all of the blackberry bushes have now been trimmed back and tied up! We are excited about the harvest that will come in the next few months.
